NAME

JERED - JErome's Renamed EDitor

SYNOPSIS

jered [ file1 file2 ... fileN ]

DESCRIPTION

JERED is a very simple to use full screen text editor. It

provides C/C++ syntax highlighting, macros recording & playing,

moving, copying or deleting blocks, per-user settings, shell es

capes, and a lot of great things. Almost all of the actions are

available by pressing a unique key. The user interface may be in

English, French, Finnish or German. By default you gan get help

in your preferred language by typing ESC_h.

ENVIRONMENT

JEPROFILE

If this is set, indicates the pathname to the cur

rent user JERED settings. If this isn't set, the default user

settings file is ~/.jeredrcor/etc/jeredrc if it exists or the

compile time user settings.

JEHELP If this is set, indicates the pathname to JERED's

help file. You can get this help by the internal command ':help'

The default help file is ./help.je You can get help on current

key mappings pressing ESC_h (by default)

JEMACROS

If this is set, indicates the pathname to the

macros's directory. If this isn't set, the default directory for

macros is the current directory.

FILES

~/.jeredrcor/etc/jeredrc

Current user settings for JERED. Refer to this file

to make your own.

./help.je

Current help file for JERED. The help is available

by the internal command ':help'

./genhelp.je

Automatically generated help file according to cur

rent key mappings. You can access this help pressing ESC_h (by

default)

./macro.jem

Current default macro
