rmiregistry - Remote object registry
SYNOPSIS
rmiregistry [OPTION | PORT]
DESCRIPTION
rmiregistry creates and starts the remote object registry on the specified PORT on the host where it is executed. The standard port 1099 is
used if no port is given as argument.

The rmi remote registry provides a naming service to be used by RMI
servers to bind remote objects to names. Clients can then lookup the
remote objects by their name.
