xresolution(1)

NAME

xresolution - print the display resolution of an X server

SYNOPSIS

xresolution [-display displayname] [-h]

DESCRIPTION

This program prints the screen size of an X server to std
out. The ouput has the form AAAxBBB, where AAA is the
number of pixels in X-, and BBB in Y- direction.
You can specify the X server with the '-display' option,
like in most X programs; if '-display' is omitted, the
content of the DISPLAY environment variable will be used.
This program also works for X servers with multiple
screens; the number of the respective (sub-)screen is usu
ally appended to the display address with a period in
front;
E.g. 'creamtea:0.0' and 'creamtea:0.1' refer to display 0 and display 1 of the same X server on host 'creamtea'.
