int lfc_getgrpbynam (char *groupname, gid_t *gid)

lfc_getgrpbynam gets the virtual gid associated with a given group name.

groupname: specifies the group name. It must be at most 255 characters long.
gid specifies the address of a buffer to receive the Virtual Group: Id.

This routine returns 0 if the operation was successful or -1 if the operation failed. In the latter case, serrno is set appropriately.

EFAULT groupname or gid is a NULL pointer.

EINVAL This group name does not exist in the internal mapping ta: ble or the length of groupname exceeds 255.
SENOSHOST Host unknown.
SENOSSERV Service unknown.
SECOMERR Communication error.
ENSNACT Name server is not running or is being shutdown.
