NAME

update-apt - Update your local package archives

SYNOPSIS

update-apt is a simple shell script which will use the apt utilities to
prepare your machine for any pending updates from  the  Debian  package
repositories.
It  will  install a cron job causing it to run once a day, allowing you
to run 'apt-get upgrade' whenever it is convienent.
