NAME
lfc_getusrbynam - get virtual uid associated with a given user name

DESCRIPTION
lfc_getusrbynam gets the virtual uid associated with a given user name.
- username
- specifies the user name. It must be at most 255 characters long.
- uid specifies the address of a buffer to receive the Virtual User
- Id.
RETURN VALUE
This routine returns 0 if the operation was successful or -1 if the operation failed. In the latter case, serrno is set appropriately.
ERRORS
EFAULT username or uid is a NULL pointer.
- EINVAL This user name does not exist in the internal mapping ta
- ble or the length of username exceeds 255.
- SENOSHOST Host unknown.
- SENOSSERV Service unknown.
- SECOMERR Communication error.
- ENSNACT Name server is not running or is being shutdown.
